I create my work in Mizunami, Gifu Prefecture, using a firing method called yakishime that involves no glaze to express the natural character of the clay. With soft forms that fit gently in the hand and the quiet, earthy textures of unglazed clay, I hope to offer pieces that bring a sense of calm enjoyment to everyday life.
